What are common failures of an electronic parking brake module?

Parking brake usually refers to the hand brake installed on a vehicle. It is used to stabilize the vehicle after it has been stopped completely and to avoid accidents caused by sliding when it is parked on a slope. The mostly commonly used parking brake nowadays is electronic parking brake system (EPB system).
Type of electronic parking systems:
There are two types of electronic parking systems: cable pulling type and integrated caliper type.
1. Electronic parking brake of cable pulling type: The actuator of electronic parking brakes of cable (bracing cable) pulling type is basically the same as that of traditional parking brakes. They both use a brake shoe. The only difference is that the manually driven cable has been changed to electric cable.
2. Electronic parking brake of integrated caliper type: As a dedicated brake caliper and a matching parking brake actuator are used, the cost of such brake is relatively high. However, the integrated caliper type electronic parking brake no longer uses traction parking steel cables. Instead, electric wires are adopted for signal transmission, which is beneficial for vehicle assembly and system simplification.
Common failures of an electronic parking brake module:
1. Broken cable;
2. Damage of an internal motor or control board results in malfunction of the brake module;
3. The transmission mechanism is out of range, causing jamming and failure of the braking function.

Advantages of vika electronic parking brake module:
1. The motor of vika electronic parking brake module is a product from Johnson Electric, a leading enterprise in motor industry. This customized motor features higher power and leads to more stable parking;
2. Internal core transmission components such as spline shaft and gear are purchased from well-known supporting enterprises in the industry, with stable and reliable quality;
3. The plastic material used for the production of vika electronic parking brake module is polyetheretherketone (PEEK). PEEK is a special engineering plastic material with ultra-high performance. It features high mechanical strength and good resistance to high temperature, impact, fire, acids and alkalis, hydrolysis, wear, fatigue and radiation;
4. Full vehicle rack commissioning is conducted for the product before delivery, thus ensuring excellent product performance and good compatibility with other parts during vehicle assembly.
