What are common failures of double mass flywheel?
04-02,2025
Double mass flywheel is a component of automotive transmission systems. It serves the main purpose of reducing vibration and noise caused by engine torque fluctuations and improving driving smoothness and comfort.
Common symptoms of a failed double mass flywheel:
Abnormal sound:
The connection between the engine and the transmission housing generates abnormal sounds similar to metal hit or friction sounds, especially during acceleration, deceleration, or idling. The noise may grow louder after warm-up of the car.
Abnormal vibration:
During startup or gear shifting, the car may experience noticeable vibration or impact.
Unsmooth gear shifting
During startup or acceleration, the clutch may slip, resulting in unsmooth power transmission. The gear shifting process is more abrupt than normal, and there may even be shifting resistance due to gear jamming or excessive force on the synchronizer.
Causes of failures of a double mass flywheel:
Part wear or failure:
Over time, the internal parts of the double mass flywheel such as spring and damper may gradually wear or fail.
Insufficient lubrication:
Lubricating grease needs to be applied to the internal parts of the double mass flywheel to reduce friction. Exposure to a high temperature environment or lack of maintenance for long can cause the grease to dry up and accelerate wear of the parts.
Overloading:
Overloading or improper use of the car (such as reckless driving) can cause the flywheel to work under overloaded conditions continuously.
Improper installation:
Misalignment or improper fixing during replacement or installation can result in uneven force on the flywheel and accelerated wear of internal parts.

Advantages of vika double mass flywheel:
1. OEM: Produced by a supporting factory, all vika double mass flywheel products have passed dynamic balancing and performance tests, thus ensuring high quality.
2. Arc spring: It is provided by the same supplier as OE products, and has a service life of over 100,000 kilometers.
3. Grease: The oil imported from Germany is not easily emulsified, and has a service life more than three times that of domestic products.
