What are common failures of window lifters?

03-05,2025

Common failures of window lifters include abnormal sound of windows during up/down movement, difficult up/down movement of windows, and windows dropping automatically after rising to half of full height.

Window lifter failure detection:

Check if the rubber strips in the window guide grooves are dirty or deformed, as a dirty or deformed rubber strip may cause difficult window lifting, automatic rebound, or abnormal noise.

Check if the window lifting mechanism is unable to act due to malfunction. If the rotation sound of the motor can be heard but the window fails to move, it may be due to cable breaking or transmission slipping. If the rotation sound of the motor cannot be heard and the window fails to move, it may be due to motor damage, loose plug, fuse failure, or other reasons.

Eliminate the above faults and check if the window lifter is damaged. Common symptoms of a failed window lifter include loose wire head, loose winch, and loose frame. A damaged window lifter should be replaced in a timely manner.

Precautions for installation of a window lifter:

Because the winding wheel cover plate of most lifters is not provided with limiting function, it is necessary to install the motor before removing the cable ties.

The winding wheel cover plate should be tightly pressed against the door panel or motor without any gap, otherwise the winding wheel may rotate idly and cause the wire ropes to fall off.

Before shipment of a window lifter, its slider is set at a position that is most favorable for installation. Hence, try not to move the slider before installation.

The door panels of some older vehicle models may have slight deformation, which can cause motor load or abnormal noise after product installation. More adjustment is therefore required for such panels. If a motor is too old, it should be preferably replaced.

Foreign objects in the rubber strips should be cleaned in a timely manner before installation. Lubricant may be sprayed into the rubber strips if necessary to reduce abnormal noise.

DPA window lifter

Advantages of DPA window lifter:

Door panel material: The door panels for DPA window lifters are made of PP and GF30 materials. Molds of the same size as those of original products are adopted to ensure more consistent designed size.

Pull cable: DPA window lifters use pull cables with 7*8+1 strands (as opposed to pull cables with 7*7+1 strands of other brands). With a pull capacity of 200 KG, they prevent wire elongation effectively.

Protection and upgrading: The original diagonal pull cables are designed with a bare structure, and a sleeve has been added to DPA pull cables to effectively prevent door panels from being scratched by the pull cables and reduce noise.
