What are the functions of an auxiliary electronic water pump?

Protect the turbocharger

After intense operation, the turbine temperature can exceed 600°C. After the engine is turned off, the main water pump stops, but the auxiliary electronic water pump continues to operate for 3 to 5 minutes and cools the turbocharger continuously to prevent spontaneous combustion due to overheating.

Adapt to traffic jams

During traffic jams in summer, if the air conditioner runs at full blast but the engine operates at low RPM, a traditional water pump is unable to supply sufficient coolant. Activating an auxiliary electronic water pump can provide an additional coolant flow of about 30 L/min, thus preventing the engine from overheating.

Support start/stop system

When the vehicle starts or stops, the mechanical water pump stop running, and the auxiliary electronic water pump takes over its role to maintain coolant circulation and prevent heat buildup.

Common failures:

1. Improper sealing causes coolant leakage.

2. The CP board overheats and burns out, preventing normal operation of the product.

Failure causes:

1. Circuit failure: poor circuit board wiring, capacitor aging, and burnout of devices.

2. Pump body failure: aged and damaged seals.

3. Other failures: motor and bearing failures.
