Common problems of automotive radiators and solutions

12-11,2024

The radiator of a car usually refers to the coolant tank in its cooling system. It serves the main purpose of maintaining normal operating temperature of the engine. The common faults of an automotive radiator can affect the cooling effect of the engine, and result in overheating or other serious problems. Here are some common radiator faults and their solutions:

1. Coolant leakage

Symptom: There are coolant droplets at the bottom or around the radiator, and there is liquid on the ground.

Cause: The radiator, hose, or connector has aged, broken or damaged.

Solution: Check the connections of different parts, find leakage points, and replace damaged parts

2. Blocked radiator

Symptom: Engine overheating or abnormal temperature inside the radiator.

Cause: The coolant contains sediments or impurities that prevent smooth flow.

Solution: Dedicated cleaning agent may be used for system cleaning, and the radiator can be disassembled for cleaning if necessary.

3. Insufficient coolant

Symptom: The coolant level is below the recommended range and causes the engine to overheat.

Cause: The coolant has leaked or evaporated, or is not replenished in a timely manner.

Solution: Check the liquid level regularly and replenish the coolant in a timely manner to a normal liquid level.

4. Excessive radiator pressure

Symptom: The radiator cover cannot be opened or abnormal noise is heard.

Cause: The cylinder gasket is damaged, causing gas to enter the cooling system and blocking circulation of coolant.

Solution: Check the cylinder gasket to ensure normal coolant circulation and replace faulty components.

5. Rust of corrosion of the radiator

Symptom: There are rust spots on the outer surface of the radiator, and the color of the coolant has darkened.

Cause: The radiator has been corroded due to use of unqualified coolant or coolant aging.

Solution: Replace the coolant regularly, use suitable antifreeze, and replace damaged radiator.

6. Poor sealing of the radiator cover

Symptom: The coolant boils or flows out frequently.

Cause: The sealing ring of the radiator cover has aged or damaged.

Solution: Replace the sealing ring of the radiator cover to ensure its tightness.

7. Color change of the coolant or impurities in it

Symptom: The color of the coolant has changed. It may appear brown or contain grease.

Cause: The cylinder gasket may have broken and caused engine oil to enter the cooling system.

Solution: Inspect the system, replace the cylinder gasket, and clean the cooling system.

vika radiator

Advantages of vika radiator:

1. The vika radiator is made of high-grade and high-density aluminum material with stable performance.

2. The aluminum tubes used for vika radiator feature a large diameter, a high flow rate, rapid cooling, and excellent heat dissipation.

3. Core radiation fins: The thickened and densified design solves stuffiness problem, accelerates heat dissipation, and prevents water leakage thanks to durable structure.
