What are the components of a window lifter on a car?

12-04,2024

A window lifter on a car typically consists of motor, speed reducer, guide ropes, guide plates, glass installation bracket, and other components.

1. Motor

As the power source of the window lifters, the window lifter motor drives the lifters by converting electric energy into mechanical energy.

2. Speed reducer

The speed reducer converts the high-speed rotation of the motor into a lower-speed and larger-torque output to realize smooth and steady window lifting. It is typically composed of gears. The speed reducer makes the window lifting process smoother and prevents safety hazards caused by rapid lifting.

3. Guide ropes

The guide ropes transmit power of the motor, and allow the windows to move up and down. Guide ropes are generally high-strength ropes that can tolerate the weight of windows and are resistant to wear and breaking.

4. Guide plates

The guide plates help maintain a stable trajectory of windows during the lifting process, preventing them from deviating. The guide plates are usually made of metal or plastic materials, which can effectively reduce friction and ensure smooth movement of windows.

5. Glass installation bracket

The glass installation bracket is used to fix window glass firmly and ensure safety and stability during the lifting process. The glass installation bracket is usually made of metal or reinforced plastic materials, and shock-absorbing pads are employed to reduce friction between glass and the bracket.

6. Switch control

The switch control for controlling window lifting is usually located in the driver door, in the passenger doors, or on the center console, facilitating easy and convenient operation.

7. Power cables

The power cables provide power for the motor.

8. Anti-pinching function

Sensors are used to detect resistance and realize automatic stop of window movement, so as to prevent passengers from getting pinched. The anti-pinching function is usually connected to an electric control system to ensure safe lifting.

DPA window lifter

Advantages of DPA window lifter:

1. The improved rope through-hole size, deeper holes, and thicker contact face of the guide tube lead to higher stability of DPA window lifter;

2. High-strength wire rope conduits are incorporated by DPA window lifter to ensure stability while achieving longer product service life;

3. Higher content of glass fiber in the guide plates of DPA window lifter results in overall improvement of product ductility and strength;

4. The window lifter has adopted a modified product design. The guide contact angle has been increased to achieve stronger wear resistance of the guide wheels. Consequently, the service life of key parts is extended.
