What are the signs of a broken lower support arm rubber sleeve?
06-21,2023
When the lower support arm rubber sleeve is broken, you can feel a loose chassis suspension or sometimes hear abnormal sound on the road. The high-speed stability and the maneuverability of the vehicle are not as good as before. You may find it difficult to maintain straight lines while driving. A broken arm rubber sleeve must be replaced.
As a key part for connecting front axle and tyres, once broken, the lower support arm can lead to changes in tyre angles, and consequently cause damage to other connection parts. Failure of the lower support arm is mostly contributable to broken rubber with a significant crack at the joint. In severe cases, the rubber may have been torn apart.
In normal drives, the whole chassis suspension (including the lower swing arm) is always subject to alternating stress. Most connection parts use rubber for absorbing vibrations. The rubber material may age or break over time. Since the majority of cars in China are based on a front-engine front-drive layout, their front suspension parts are subject to heavier loads. Hence, the front suspension typically experiences a failure earlier than the rear suspension.
