What is the purpose of camshaft adjuster?
01-03,2024
Camshaft adjuster, also known as cam deflection control valve, is a rotary motion valve. It consists of a rotary electric actuator and an eccentric hemispheric valve. The electric actuator is designed as a one-piece structure, and a servo system is embedded in it.

Principle of camshaft adjuster:
1. It changes the time for opening air inlet and exhaust valves depending on operation conditions of the engine. When the engine works under high load, the camshaft adjuster is used to optimize the valve overlap angle depending on the engine RPM;
2. It helps supply as much fresh air as possible to the combustion chamber, thus realizing high power, large overlap angle, and high torque;
3. Under a low load, the camshaft is adjusted to enable exhaust recirculation in the engine within the range of valve overlap angle.
