What are the functions of valve chamber cover?

08-09,2023

Valve chamber cover is a part of an engine. It is also known as valve cover or cylinder head. It is located at the top of the engine and covers the valve chamber (where the valve is installed).

The valve chamber cover serves the following purposes for the engine:

1. Protect the valve and valve mechanism: The valve chamber cover is installed above the valve chamber to protect the valve and valve mechanism. It can prevent dust, dirt, moisture, and other impurities from entering the valve chamber, and therefore maintain normal operation and lifespan of the valve.

2. Seal the engine: The valve chamber cover and other components such as the cylinder head and cylinder block form a sealing system, which prevents compressed gas and oil inside the engine from leaking out, thus maintaining normal operation and performance of the engine.

3. Dissipate heat: The valve chamber cover usually provides heat dissipation function, which is assisted by heat dissipation fins or holes. This function helps control the temperature of the valve chamber and prevent damage to the engine due to overheat.

4. Install valve mechanism: Valve mechanism components such as valve, valve spring, and valve guide tube are installed on the valve chamber cover. These components are connected to the cylinder block of the engine via the valve chamber cover, and help control valve opening and closing.

5. Provide support and immobilization: The valve chamber cover supports and immobilizes the valve mechanism, and ensures its normal movement and positioning. It also helps with separation between the valve chamber and other engine components for maintaining independent movement of the valve mechanism.

In sum, the valve chamber cover plays a critical role in protecting, sealing, cooling, and supporting the engine. It guarantees normal operation of the valve and relevant components, and maintains performance and lifespan of the engine.

Advantages of vika valve chamber cover:

In order to address common problems of valve chamber cover such as seal leakage and membrane aging, the product and R&D engineers of vika have developed new designs through detailed and profound research, and repeatedly demonstrated their designs in the context of dealing with practical problems. Changes have been made in the welding process, seal size, and material design, thus significantly optimizing the materials and processes of the swing blade shaft control valve. The benefits include higher strength and excellent sealing characteristics of the vika valve chamber cover.

1. The vika valve chamber cover is made of imported BASF PA66-GF30 material subject to injection molding, which features stronger high-temperature resistance as well as excellent chemical stability and thermal aging stability. The product therefore provides higher resistance, higher load strength, and a longer service life.

2. The oil seals and sealing strips are made of ACM from globally renowned brand DuPont. This material is highly resistant to high temperature, oil, ozone, and ultraviolet radiation, thereby effectively extending the product's service life.

3. The diaphragm of the oil-gas separator on the valve chamber cover is made of a top-grade material in the industry – fluorosilicone, which is rich in fluorinated groups with hydrogen-resistant solvent properties. It therefore features better resistance to oil, acid and alkaline and lower surface energy.

4. The product is welded using an EMERSON welding machine imported from the USA, with a minimum dimensional tolerance of 0.02 MM. It features good dimensional stability and accuracy and elegant appearance.
