What are the symptoms of a failed automotive ball cage?
07-10,2023
The following symptoms may appear if an automotive ball cage fails:
1. Loose or sinking suspension
Following the failure of an automotive ball cage, the suspension system may become loose, causing the vehicle body to sink or become unstable. Consequently, you may feel lower suspension height and degraded stability and maneuverability of the vehicle body.
2. Abnormal sound and noise
An automotive ball cage failure may result in abnormal sound and noise. When the suspension system is subjected to shock or load, knock, creak, or increased noise can be heard.
3. Bumping and unstable driving
An automotive ball cage failure can impair the shock absorption and cushioning capabilities of the suspension system, resulting in more noticeable jolting and poorer riding experience on bumpy roads. The vehicle may generate significant vibration and instability during driving.
4. Oil leakage
Leakage of lubricant oil in a ball cage can cause oil to seep out. As a result, you may find oil stains or smell lubricant oil near the ball cage.
5. Uneven wear of tyres
An automotive ball cage failure can prevent the wheels from maintaining correct alignment, which may in turn lead to uneven wear of tyres. Certain areas of the wheels may wear more severely than other areas, which probably results from uneven contact between the tyres and the ground due to ball cage malfunction.
If any of the above phenomena appears, you are advised to go to a car maintenance center for inspection and repair as soon as possible, thus ensuring normal operation of the suspension system and driving safety.

Advantages of vika ball cage:
Ball cage: The inner and outer ball cage blanks are formed with 55# stainless steel by means of cold extrusion and warm forging, with a hardness value of 58-62. The grooves are based on a double-arc contact design. All products are ground precisely. The retainer and inner race wheel are made of 20Crmnti material, with a hardness value of 58-62 after tempering.
Dust cover: The product makes use of thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPE) from USA-based DuPont. Such material features excellent resistance to extreme temperatures up to +160° and down to -60°.
Consequently, the product provides a service life three times as long as that of rubber dust covers, and realizes a one-third weight reduction. A blow molding process fully guarantees high quality of every product and the consistency of every batch.
Quality control of vika ball cage dust covers starts from raw material acquisition, and only components from qualified manufacturers are used. Each batch of product is randomly inspected and tested to ensure product quality and consistency.Steel ball: The steel balls for vika ball cages are sized according to OE standard, with balls of identical size used for every ball cage. The steel ball supplier selected is fully qualified.
Clamp: The fixing stainless steel clamp for TPE hard plastic dust cover is acquired from OETlKER, the World No. 1 clamp brand, whose exquisite technologies are beyond doubt. When put under microscope, the clamp exhibits top-notch quality as it has received deburring and round edge processing on both sides. This minimizes damage to the dust cover and effectively guarantees high quality of each drive shaft assembly.
The content of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) in the lubricant oil is higher than 2.5%. The base oil is purchased from a domestic factory in support of the OEM. Its excellent anti-wear performance and good resistance to high and low temperature fully ensure normal operation of drive shaft assemblies at high speed for a long time.
