Purpose and working principle of air spring
02-26,2025
An air spring on a vehicle is supported by air to change the height of the vehicle and the rigidity of the suspension, thereby improving riding comfort and maneuverability of the vehicle.
An air spring on a vehicle is an adjustable vibration damping device. By controlling the amount of air filled into the air spring, the length of the airbag can be changed to adjust the height of the vehicle body. To adapt to different loads of the vehicle, the pressure of the air spring can also be adjusted to ensure stable spring rigidity.
Common failures of an air spring:
The most common failures of an air spring include air leakage and abnormal sounds.
Symptoms of a failed air spring:
1. If there is a significant decrease in the height of the vehicle during drives, or if the vehicle sinks excessively when running on bumpy roads, the air spring may have leaked.
2. If the suspension of the vehicle generates abnormal sounds during drives, such as "hissing" or "creaking" sounds, they are typical symptoms of a leaky suspension system.
The vika air shock absorber repair kit is the most economical solution to a leaky air shock absorber, leading to stable performance and a long service life.
1. Skin: The skin in the vika air shock absorber repair kit uses a special formula containing natural rubber, chloroprene rubber, and nylon 66. Thanks to a four-layer rolling process, the thickness of the skin can be controlled within 2±0.3 mm, and the compressive strength is at least 3 MPa.
2. Piston: The piston in the vika air shock absorber is based on an integrated molding process for 6063 aluminum tubes, leading to a tensile strength of not lower than 20 KN and a compressive strength of not lower than 3 MPa.
3. Strut Mounting: The rubber of the strut mounting is subject to a high-temperature and high-pressure vulcanization process, and imported adhesive is used, leading to a tear strength of 10 KN.
4. Aluminum cover: A drawing & forming process for 6063 aluminum tubes is adopted, and the surface of the aluminum cover is subject to anodizing treatment.
5. Snap ring: The snap ring in the vika air shock absorber repair kit is made with a steel plate rolling welding technology, which leads to a tensile strength of at least 30 KN. It is also subject to surface electroplating treatment, and has received neutral salt spray test for more than 72 hours.
