Intercooler and vika radiator serve different purposes.
An intercooler is used to lower the intake air temperature of an engine. It helps reduce thermal load of the engine while increasing the amount of intake air. A radiator serves as the cooling unit for an engine, and is used to dissipate unnecessary heat from the engine (by water cooling).
On a car with a supercharged engine, the intercooler acts as a cooling device for intake air. It is typically only found on models equipped with a pressure charger. The intercooler decreases the intake air temperature of the engine. It helps reduce thermal load of the engine while increasing the amount of intake air, thus contributing greatly to engine power. As a supporting part for the turbocharging system, it cools the high-temperature air generated during turbocharging, thereby leading to lower engine load, larger amount of intake air, and higher engine power. The intercooler is therefore an important component in the charging system. Whether a supercharged engine or a turbocharged engine is used, an intercooler is required between the pressure charger and the intake manifold.
Radiator is a heat dissipating unit and a key part in an automotive cooling system. It is designed to dissipate surplus engine heat. When the system detects excessive water temperature of the engine, the water pump will allow the water to circulate continuously to cool down and protect the engine effectively. If the water temperature drops below a define level, the circulation will be ceased to keep the engine from becoming too cold.
