I. Overview of auto parts
Auto parts are the units that make up the whole car and products that serve the car. There are tens of thousands of components in a car, with many varieties and complicated structural forms.
Classification of auto parts
Classified by standardization.
A single finished product, a single product that does not use an assembly process, or two or more connected together with a specified function, which can usually be disassembled are parts, such as tires, wheels, and pistons.
(2) Unit body
A functional combination consisting of any combination of parts and components with a certain functional characteristic, usually capable of working independently in different environments
When two or more parts are assembled together using an assembly process, the subassembly has a subordinate assembly-level relationship, which is the subassembly.
When two or more parts and sub-assemblies are assembled using assembly procedures, the part that has a subordinate assembly-level relationship to the assembly is the sub-assembly.
An assembly made up of two or more single parts or subassemblies can play the role of a mechanism alone. Such as headlight assembly, engine assembly, generator assembly, etc.
(6) Body cover
It is stamped and welded from sheet metal, and covers automobile body parts.
In order to facilitate maintenance, a main functional part and several parts are combined into a component for supply in the market, but it cannot serve the function of a single mechanism. Such as wiper components, brake components, vika piston ring components and so on.
During the repair process, certain system parts are required to be replaced at the same time, and they are generally supplied in the form of kits on the market. Such as Tian Deloitte vika engine overhaul kit, vika axle repair kit, vika steering gear repair kit, etc.
Automotive Standard Parts
Designed and manufactured in accordance with national standards, the same type of parts have uniform shapes, sizes, tolerances, and technical requirements, and can be used on various instruments and equipment with interchangeable parts.
Generally refers to the running materials of the car.
Automotive materials are mostly products that are not produced by the automotive industry and used by automobiles.
Terminology of auto parts industry
As a qualified auto parts manager, you must have strong professional qualities to be competent. The most direct and basic performance of professional quality is the proficiency and application of terms in the accessories industry.
1. Basic vehicle terms
Includes professional descriptions of vehicle-related information such as car brand, manufacturer, model, model, body type, vehicle configuration, drive type, production method (import, parts assembly, etc.), model parameters, etc. For example, an accurate description of a Mercedes-Benz MB100 is as follows: The Mercedes-Benz MB100 small passenger car produced in South Korea in 1994 as a part assembly method is exported to China with a VIN code of …… (generally 17 characters).
2. Basic information of accessories
To learn more about the classification, materials, types, technical parameters, source of accessories, manufacturers and brands, related products and supporting tools.
For example, if a customer wants to buy bolts, you need to ask at least the following questions to grasp the exact needs of the customer.
Hex head or square head, or other types; whether the thread is inch or metric; what is the diameter of the bolt; what is the pitch, 1.5, 1.75 or 2.0; what is the length of the bolt, whether it is a full thread or a segment of thread; accuracy grade: A, B Grade C or Grade C; Performance grades: Grades 8.8 and 10.9; Domestic, imported (note the relationship between the performance level of imported bolts and domestic bolts); whether to replace mating parts such as washers and nuts at the same time; whether a seal is required The products of rubber (grease) are still purchased separately as sealants (grease); if the bolt type is special, do you need to purchase matching disassembly tools.
3. Other common terms for accessories
When customers buy parts from auto parts dealers, parts sales staff usually asks customers whether they want “original parts” or “sub-factory parts”. This is due to different sources of parts. The source channels of the accessories are different, the price may vary greatly, and of course the quality will vary. According to the different source channels of accessories, accessories can generally be divided into original parts, auxiliary parts, demolition parts and refurbished parts.
Original parts, also known as matching parts, refer to loading parts for automobile manufacturers. They have the logo of the car manufacturer and a unified part number. The matching parts usually have the trademark of the parts manufacturer and the detailed factory name and address.
Sub-factory parts are also called non-matching parts. Generally speaking, sub-factory parts refer to accessories other than the original factory-installed parts. Such a range is too large, so the sub-factory parts look different. Whether it is the products of world-famous brand manufacturers, The products produced by the cottage factory can also be called deputy factory parts, and the actual situation is the same. Among them, some are well-known professional parts manufacturers. The parts produced by them will be purchased by some car manufacturers and marked with the car manufacturer’s mark, or they will be used by some car manufacturers to assemble new cars directly. Own brand provides loading accessories for a certain car (even if it also provides “factory parts” for car manufacturers), but only produces this car accessory for the market and sells it itself, generally called professional factory parts, such accessories Generally there will be intact packaging. The clear brand and specifications on the packaging, as well as the detailed manufacturer’s name and address, and even the contact phone number, website, and other information, the quality is generally trustworthy. More famous professional accessories manufacturers such as Bosch, Delphi , Federal-Mogul, Denso, Siemens, etc.
Demolition parts are parts that are removed from scrapped vehicles and are often used in the repair of imported vehicles that have been used for a long time.
Refurbished parts. Some old parts can be used or reconditioned by professional manufacturers to meet the performance requirements and quality assurance, such as refurbished automatic transmissions, torque converters, headlights, etc.
