Tantivy Auto Parts Classroom|How do auto parts work?

In this issue, Tantivy Auto Parts will give you a detailed explanation of how the parts of the car work.

1.Drum brake
The drum brake is a brake device that uses a brake pad that is stationary in the brake drum to rub the brake drum that rotates with the wheel to generate a frictional force to reduce the rotational speed of the wheel.
When the brake pedal is depressed, the force of the foot causes the piston in the master cylinder to push the brake oil forward and generate pressure in the oil passage. The pressure is transmitted to the brake cylinder piston of each wheel via the brake oil. The piston of the brake cylinder pushes the brake pad outward, causing the brake pad and the inner surface of the brake drum to rub, and generating sufficient friction to reduce the rotation speed of the wheel. In order to achieve the purpose of braking.

2. Disc brake
The disc brake is composed of a brake disc connected to the wheel and a brake caliper at the edge of the disc. When braking, the high-pressure brake oil pushes the brake block to clamp the brake disc to produce a braking effect.
Disc brakes are sometimes called disc brakes. They are divided into two types: ordinary disc brakes and ventilated disc brakes. The ventilated disc brake is to drill a lot of circular vents on the disc surface, or to cut out the ventilation slots on the end face of the disc or to pre-form a rectangular venting hole. The ventilated disc brake uses the airflow effect to have a hot and cold effect than the ordinary disc. Brakes are better.
The main advantage of the disc brake is that it can brake quickly when braking at high speed. The heat dissipation effect is better than that of the drum brake. The braking performance is constant. It is easy to install advanced electronic equipment like ABS, and use metal blocks (discs) instead of The drum has a flat brake shoe on both sides of the brake disc. When the hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder is sent to the cylinder, the brake shoe is clamped to the brake disc to achieve the brake effect, which is now widely used. The front wheel, some of the advanced car equipment four-wheel disc brakes, its advantages are sensitive, good heat dissipation, no need to adjust the brake gap, easy maintenance.

3. Differential lock
Ordinary differentials, although allowing the left and right wheels to rotate at different speeds, when one of the wheels is idling, the other wheel on a good road does not get torque, and the car loses its driving power.
In this case, the differential does not work. When the two wheels are connected together, the power can be transmitted to at least the other side of the wheel, so that the car can get the driving force to get out of trouble. This situation also exists in the center differential. Thus, various differential lock mechanisms have been developed.

4.CVT continuously variable transmission
The CVT technology is a continuously variable transmission technology. It uses a transmission belt and a main and driven wheel with variable working diameter to cooperate to transmit power, which can realize continuous change of the transmission ratio, thereby obtaining the best match between the transmission system and the engine working condition.
Commonly available continuously variable transmissions include hydraulic mechanical continuously variable transmissions and metal belt type continuously variable transmissions (VDT-CVT). At present, there are more and more models using CVT in the domestic market.

5. In-cylinder direct injection engine work process
In-cylinder direct injection (GDI) is a technique that directly injects fuel into a cylinder and mixes it with the intake air. The advantages are low fuel consumption, high power, and a compression ratio of up to 12, which is 10% higher than the average engine of the same displacement. The current disadvantage is that the components are complex and the price is usually expensive.
The injection pressure is further improved, making the fuel atomization more detailed, truly achieving precise proportional control of the injection and mixing with the intake air, and eliminating the disadvantages of the out-of-cylinder injection. At the same time, the special design of the nozzle position, spray shape, intake air flow control, and piston crown shape enables the oil and gas to be fully and uniformly mixed throughout the cylinder, so that the fuel is fully combusted and the energy conversion efficiency is higher. Therefore, some people think that the in-cylinder direct injection gasoline engine is a pioneering work of transplanting the diesel engine to the gasoline engine.

6.SOHC single camshaft engine
The camshaft of the engine is mounted on the top of the cylinder head and has only a single camshaft, commonly referred to as SOHC (Single Over Head Cam Shaft). The camshaft drives the valve through the rocker arm to open and close.
There is also a non-rocker design on the engine of the two-valve per cylinder. This method is to arrange the intake and exhaust valves online, and let the camshaft directly drive the valve to open and close. The engine with the VVL device will drive the valve to open and close through a set of rocker arms.

7. Differential
The differential utilizes the irreversible principle of the worm gear drive and the high friction condition of the tooth surface, so that the differential is automatically locked or released according to the internal differential torque (ie the internal friction torque of the differential). That is, when the differential torque in the differential is small, the differential action is performed, and when the differential torque in the differential is too large, the differential will automatically lock, which can effectively improve the passing ability of the automobile.
The characteristic of straight-line driving is that the resistance of the left and right driving wheels is approximately the same. The power output from the engine is first transmitted to the differential housing to cause the differential housing to begin to rotate. Next, we must transfer the power from the shell to the left and right axles. We can understand that the two side gears are “competitive” with each other. Since the resistance of the two wheels is the same, neither of them can slap each other, so the differential shell The planetary gears in the body revolve around the casing without rotating, and the two planetary gears mesh with the two half-shaft gears at the same speed, so that the car can travel straight!

8. Clutch
The clutch is located in the flywheel housing between the engine and the transmission, and the clutch assembly is fixed to the rear plane of the flywheel by screws, and the output shaft of the clutch is the input shaft of the transmission.
During the driving of the vehicle, the driver can step on or release the clutch pedal as needed to temporarily separate and gradually engage the engine and the transmission to cut off or transmit the power input by the engine to the transmission. Clutches are a common component in mechanical transmissions that separate or engage the drive train at any time.
