1. If the parallelism between the press fitting surface of the crankshaft rear oil seal and the mounting surface of the rear oil seal seat fails to meet the specification, the rear oil seal lip may deform under uneven load after the engine is used for some time. Consequently, the oil seal will fail and leak.
2. If the crankshaft rear oil seal is pressed fitted by using engine oil in place of more expensive non-petroleum base lubricant, the engine may loosen or fall off after being used for some time.
3. If the engine is used for too long, cracks may develop at the seal lip due to natural ageing, thus causing oil leak.
